Lapel Police Department

Despite all the difficulties we faced in 2020, our Police Department still had a very busy year. They responded to a total of 2644 calls during 2020. 915 of those calls were traffic stops, the second highest was 240 calls for suspicious activity, and a majority of the calls were received on Saturdays. With the help of a loan program, the Lapel Police Department was able to get two new police vehicles. You should be seeing those vehicles around town within the next month. Our Police Department staff includes the following: Chief Naselroad, Captain Buffington, Officer Petty, Officer Dulaney, and Officer Montgomery. If you need to reach and Police Department for any nonemergency needs please call (765)534-4600.

Meet Our Utility Crew

Pictured below is Steve Selby, left, and Brandon Hutchison, right. Steve helps out each department as needed, but primarily works with Brandon in the gas department. Steve has been a Town employee since May 2019. Brandon is our Gas Operator, and focuses on making sure the Town is safe and in compliance. Brandon also helps out the other departments as needed, and is the main employee to operate our vac truck, and new dump truck, as both of those vehicles requires a CDL. Brandon has been a Town employee since October 2017. If you see either of these gentlemen around town make sure to say hi, and thank them for all their hard work. They also want to make sure everyone knows to call (765)534-3157 right away if you believe you smell natural gas in or around your home.
